“Urduja”

I just once asked from my friend if I’d already saw the movie of “Urduja”. She said that it’s a worthwhile to watch. I am blessed that every time I want to watch a movie I don’t need to buy a ticket and to deduct it to my allowance. I don’t even bother to asked how much is the fee..hahaha.
“Urduja” is the first Filipino full-animated film produced by Tony Tuviera’s APT Entertainmnent. As I’d watched the movie of “Urduja” it is quite promising that this movie is influenced by the Disney’s film. The story and characters of this is somewhat similar of Pocahontas and Mulan, but that ain’t necessarily bad and it’s our first time to make this kind of a movie and I think this just a good start.
In my negative side when we say animated film the first audiences are the kids. I think in that Urduja’s movie some kids was not been able to connect to that story because the’ve easily done it with Pocahontas or Mulan. Kids had been exposed to a lot Disney’s films and formulaic stories from the other country and it may disappoint them if they can’t connect to it.
I hope someday we can make an animated film that is purely Pinoy. Philippines is rich in history, legends, folklores, fables, epics, tales and myths. I think they can get some idea to make another an animated film.:-)
